GxP Recruitment are currently partnering with a leading engineering services company that has been at the forefront of delivering large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Ireland for well over a century. With their continued growth in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Renewable Energy sectors, they are now looking to appoint a T&D Technical Manager to support and oversee a range of high-profile, technically complex projects.
This is a fantastic hybrid opportunity based in Cork, offering the flexibility of both office and remote work.
About the Role
As T&D Technical Manager, you’ll be a key technical lead supporting the delivery of energy infrastructure projects, from tender stage through to commissioning. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and specialist teams to ensure all technical requirements are understood, validated, and implemented to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical input during tendering and procurement processes, particularly for high-value electrical equipment.
  • Support electrical design and coordination across renewable energy infrastructure projects.
  • Analyse supplier data and equipment documentation for compliance with design and project specifications.
  • Assist with project progress tracking, technical risks, and issue resolution.
  • Participate in design reviews, support submittals, and coordinate with internal and external teams.
  • Conduct on-site quality reviews and system walk-downs to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Contribute to the development of the design and commissioning functions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related 3rd-level qualification (required).
  • 5+ years' experience in electrical design; project management experience is a plus.
  • At least 1–2 years in a similar T&D or Renewables-focused technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of TSO/DSO interfacing and the Irish market is advantageous.
  • Highly collaborative and proactive, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general technical documentation tools.
  • A growth mindset with a demonstrated appetite for continued learning and professional development.
