Software Test Engineer I


Contract
​Galway
Overview:
To assist the Equipment Engineering department to develop new manufacturing and test equipment and systems used in the development and production of medical devices. Independently or as member of a team; responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications by manually executing test cases, identifying and reporting defects, and working closely with the development team to resolve issues.

The software tester will:
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Execute test cases manually to verify software functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Identify and document defects and inconsistencies in the software.
  • Verify defect fixes and ensure they meet the specified criteria.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Maintain and update regression test suites as needed.
  • Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test data, and test results.
  • Provide clear and detailed defect reports with steps to reproduce issues.
  • Set up and maintain test environments, including hardware and software configurations.


Quality System Requirements
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the Quality Policy.
  • Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.


Job Required Skills
  • Experience in Software Testing/QA.
  • Strong knowledge of testing lifecycle and principles.
  • Knowledge of source code management tools such as TFS.
  • Knowledge and experience writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with project/bug management tools
  • Waterfall Development Lifecycle knowledge.
  • Legally authorized to work permanently in Ireland.
  • Medical device knowledge.
  • Experience in implementing test strategy, test estimations, test plan creation, execution, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical skills in analysing performance test results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good relationship management skills.
  • Technical Writing skills.
  • Good multi-tasking and prioritization skills.​
  • Must be a good team player and show ability and willingness to motivate and support other engineers.
