In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee critical development projects, shape team culture, and collaborate across functions to bring cutting-edge medical technologies to life.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior R&D Engineering Manager, you will:
- Plan, direct, and implement all aspects of design and development for new medical device products.
- Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering engagement, growth, and high performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Core Teams to drive project success and innovation.
- Oversee the evaluation and integration of new technologies, methodologies, and materials.
- Guide the full product lifecycle — from concept development through to market release.
- Manage feasibility studies to ensure functional and design excellence.
- Maintain rigorous technical documentation throughout all R&D phases.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Champion product development best practices including Voice of Customer, early risk management, and Design for Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM).
- Occasionally travel (up to 25%) for domestic and international collaboration.
- Education: Level 8 Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- Leadership: Proven people management experience — including 1:1s, performance reviews, recruitment, and career development.
- Experience: Background in the medical device industry with a track record of delivering successful projects.
- Strong communication, team-building, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
- Program management expertise is a distinct advantage.
