Principal Systems Engineer
Our Medical Device client is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join their Cardiac Ablation Solutions team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects that have a direct impact on patient outcomes, collaborating across functions and geographies to drive new product development.
The Role
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will apply your expertise in systems engineering to solve complex challenges. You will play a key role in product development, supporting system integration into Electrophysiology catheter laboratory environments, and ensuring robust interface testing both within the system and in commercial support settings.
This position also offers the chance to mentor and coach engineers, fostering growth and embedding systems engineering principles across the team.

As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will apply your expertise in systems engineering to solve complex challenges. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create integration, characterisation, troubleshooting testing, training, and guidance documentation
- Coach and mentor engineers in the application of systems engineering principles
- Support marketing, field engineering, technical services, and training/education teams on technical queries
- Propose and implement improvements to systems and processes
Required
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Advanced understanding of Electrophysiology and confidence working in hospital environments
- Experience in systems engineering, including defining systems architecture within medical device product development
- Strong knowledge of Design Controls for medical devices
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional strategies and outcomes
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience with junior engineers
