Our Client based in Galway, Ireland, places a focus on high quality innovation developed through predictive engineering. Principal R&D Engineers in Galway are directly involved in the development of market leading devices to meet the needs of patients in the structural heart & aortic space.
Main Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and provides technical skills during research and/or product development.
- Designs studies to investigate specific life science questions within field of expertise.
- May be involved in product research and development and/or clinical trials.
- Translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products.
- Responsible for leading the development team for a system or sub-system.
- Optimizing component designs to meet the required design outputs for the system.
- You will be responsible for sourcing and testing materials for new designs.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on cross-functional teams focusing on design requirements.
- Utilize project management skills to gain alignment with key stakeholders.
- Sharing key learnings across the organization to drive synergy and optimize our development process across programs.
Key Skills & Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s Level 8 degree (B. Eng.) and minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Must have strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for communication with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
- The candidate must have the ability to create a work environment that is inclusive of all our team members.
- Proven ability to gather user needs and translate them into design requirements.
- Ability to provide guidance and coaching to other employees within the engineering team.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously on complex work packages and achieve successful results.
- Capability to define the direction for the development of new products they are leading.
- Promotes and practices a culture of integrity, ethics, and compliance.
