Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Primary Function of Role :
Leads teams to support manufacturing product performance and yields through expertise in equipment, processes and/ or materials.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Create and lead complex projects, generate plans, managing the associated cost and time constraints.
  • Develops direct reports by securing appropriate t raining, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.
  • Interacts with internal customers to provide 2-way feedback on process issues.
  • Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organisational unit.
  • Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (example (e.g.) compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), British Standards Institution (BSI), relevant employment law etcetera (etc.)
  • Leads teams to generate and execute validation protocols, trials/ studies and create associated reports for equipment, test methods, processes and materials.
  • Works under limited supervision. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Education and Years Experience:
  • Third level qualification in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing or other relevant discipline.
  • National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Accountability/Scope:
  • Reports directly to the manufacturing manager
  • Scope of decision making relates primarily to the management of the operations engineering team
  • The role is responsible for the direction and leadership of the operations engineering team and accountable for the team's performance, maintaining regulatory compliance and optimising resources through effective management
