- Supplier Engineering Supervisor / Lead
Purpose of the Role
This role is responsible for planning and executing day-to-day activities within the Supplier Engineering function. You will lead and support a team of engineers, ensuring work is delivered in line with defined plans, procedures and priorities. The position involves developing and delivering weekly and monthly objectives while supporting supply chain continuity, supplier performance and material risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee supplier engineering activities in support of supply chain objectives, including supplier performance, material risk mitigation and materials VIP execution
- Set priorities, schedule work and allocate resources to meet operational demands, flexing assignments as priorities change to maintain production continuity
- Develop and coach team members to ensure proficiency in executing plans and support ongoing career development
- Provide technical leadership to the supplier engineering team and act as a subject matter expert within your area of expertise
- Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO and internal quality and regulatory requirements related to supplied materials
- Support qualification of second-source suppliers for existing materials
- Develop and manage execution plans for materials VIPs, tracking progress and escalating risks where required
- Support resolution of supplier-related line-down issues to maintain business continuity
- Interface with product development and cross-functional teams, providing supplier engineering support as required
- Deliver projects within agreed expense and capital budgets
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and product quality through full compliance with the Quality Policy and quality system procedures
- Ensure appropriate resources, tools and processes are in place to maintain quality system compliance
- Foster a work environment that actively supports quality, compliance and continuous improvement

- Honours Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Engineering or a related discipline
- 3–5 years’ relevant professional experience, ideally within the medical device or regulated manufacturing sector
- Proven leadership capability with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, results-driven and able to manage competing priorities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and process-focused mindset
