Lab Specialist

Contract
The role is to support labs capability expansion strategy to support new business along with some engineering qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership and application of the metrology system (CMM) to support process validations
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of CAD drawings, including familiarity with GD&T principles.
  • Proficient in fixture design, which is essential for accurate parts setup and repeatable results.
  • Experience with program design to allow collaboration with vendor
  • Ability to engage confidently in technical discussions with the vendor, particularly when it comes to addressing data discrepancies and working through root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of process capability and statistical process control (SPC) would be a distinct advantage.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of mechanical design experience (adjust based on seniority level).
  • Validation experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as: SolidWorks/ AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of DMIS or equivalent CMM programming
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a laboratory, R&D, pharmaceutical, medical device, or scientific environment.
  • Familiarity with test equipment, instrumentation, and experimental setups.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, and design for manufacture (DFM).
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
