Our Medical Device client is looking to add a Health & Safety Officer to their team.
Required Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or equivalent.
Duties/ Accountabilities
This involves but is not limited to assisting with the completion of the following in conjunction with site Management:
- Responsibility for maintaining the Health and Safety Management System within the facility, including integration of the OH&S Management Systems with all processes and in accordance with the requirements of ISO 45001 other legal requirements.
- Developing and ensuring adherence to all existing Health and Safety procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
- Maintaining all safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets for all components/products.
- Co-ordinating Health and Safety activities arising out of accidents/near misses/Safety Meetings/Inspections/Customer visits.
- Responsibility for Hazard Identification and Associated Risk Assessment in accordance with the relevant Engineers for each workstation within the plant (Ergonomics/ Chemicals/ Lifting/Fixtures/Safety Glasses/Safety Footwear/ Gloves etc).
- Assessment of OH&S related Hazards, Risks and Opportunities
- Developing a schedule for fire & first aid drills, training, audits etc. and ensure plan is executed.
- Maintenance of the REACH directive within the facility.
- Ensuring compliance with all OH&S legislation and any other requirements with the aid of the HSE Legal Register.
- Reporting on the performance of the OH&S Management System to Management
- Adhere to Plant Safety requirements and Health & Safety requirements relating to your work, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the OH&S System over which you have control to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
- Be aware of the potential environmental impacts associated with your work and the implications of non-conformance.
- Contribute to enhanced energy performance by conservation of energy where possible (Lighting, Equipment, Air Conditioning etc).
- Contribute to the continual improvement activities of the OH&S, Environmental and energy Management systems through participation, providing feedback/suggestions for improvement and by reporting accidents, dangerous occurrence, near miss/ illness, good catch and environmental incidents in a timely manner.
- Champion data protection compliance, ensuring all processes, systems and data within area of responsibility are operating compliantly and within the requirements of the GDPR and its principles.
