The role
The Automation Project Manager role combines technical knowledge with project management capability. It involves leading an Automation Team with responsibility for designing, building, installing, and commissioning six-axis robot automation cells which service blow and injection moulding machines and the designing, building, and installing and commissioning of special purpose PLC controlled fixtures for the end of line testing and verification of product for the automotive, healthcare and industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for economic and technical evaluation and the delivery on time and within budget of assigned projects.
- Efficient and effective resource allocation and related monitoring of project team
- Performance of the unit making a significant contribution to the overall business performance.
- Use strong facilitation and communication skills to ensure good communication within the project team and between the team and key stakeholders
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills in Suppliers management
- Generation of Design Standards and Qualification documents
- Setting up and monitoring of project budget
- Creation and monitoring of project schedules
- Maintain a culture of Innovation, Continuous Improvement and Standardisation to ensure the team efficiently deliver the latest automation technology.
- Drive Good Engineering Practices across all stages of Project Delivery
To be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify areas of improvement in current process and implement improvements to maximise efficiency.
- Project management skills with demonstrated track record of successfully managing projects.
- Be proactive, self-motivated and have a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the year.
- Proven team management and leadership skills (Preferred)
- Technical knowledge on Robotics, Pneumatics, and control systems (Preferred)
- Have a good understanding of CE and machine safety requirements (Preferred)
