GxP Recruitment are delighted to support our client who is a leading Irish and UK Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering company. We are currently seeking Automation Engineers (3+ years' experience) to work on leading-edge automation projects in the Food & Beverage and Life Science sectors. Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLC Programming Experience is essential and experience with AVEVA (Wonderware) products would be a distinct advantage. This role is a full-time staff position, based out of Cork, with an excellent salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities/ Duties

  • Working with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers managing and delivering projects to customer sites.
  • Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Production of I/O schedules
  • Preparation of Functional Design specifications
  • Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA)
  • Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematics
  • Commissioning of control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systems
  • Fault finding of control systems (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Communication Networks etc.)
  • Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Working closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
  • Providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.
  • Mentoring and training of junior engineers.


Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience
  • Experienced Automation Engineer with 3+ years’ experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Instrumentation/ Information Systems or related field.
  • Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLC Programming Experience essential
  • HMI / SCADA Experience: Rockwell FTView & AVEVA InTouch.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet, ControlNET) desirable.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring would be desirable.
  • Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Food Beverage and/or Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
